This Privacy Policy describes how Varu, operated by Hark Co (“we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses and protects information when you install and use the Varu Shopify application.

Information we collect

When you connect Varu to Shopify, we collect merchant account details necessary to identify your account, including your name, email address and Shopify account identifier. We also store your shop domain, store name, store currency and an encrypted Shopify API access token.

To provide inventory planning features, we process product titles, SKUs, Shopify product and variant IDs, inventory levels, supplier settings, purchase order information, order line-item product IDs and quantities sold. We use this information to calculate demand, stock cover, reorder points, suggested order quantities and stockout risk.

We do not store customer names, customer email addresses, shipping addresses, payment details or other customer personal information for the purpose of providing Varu’s inventory-planning service.

How we use information

We use your information to operate Varu, synchronise products and orders with Shopify, create and send purchase orders when requested by you, provide inventory and reorder planning, administer subscriptions, and provide support. We do not sell, rent or share your store data with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Data security and retention

Data is stored using managed cloud services with encryption at rest and transmitted using TLS. Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted and are restricted to server-side processes. Webhook payloads are verified using HMAC signatures before they are processed.

We retain your store data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall Varu, your store access token is deactivated. Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks are supported for data-access and deletion requests, including the customers/data_request, customers/redact and shop/redact topics.

Your rights and requests

You may request access to or deletion of data associated with your Varu account by emailing hello@stocksense.au. We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable law.

Third-party services

Varu connects to Shopify to access authorised store data and Shopify Billing to manage subscriptions. Shopify’s use of data is governed by its own privacy policy. Varu may also use email-delivery and hosting providers to operate the service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of Varu after an update means you accept the revised policy.
