Why are Shopify brands looking for a Stocky alternative?
Shopify has stated that Stocky will no longer be available after 31 August 2026. Brands may be reviewing how they manage inventory planning, suppliers and purchase orders.
Does StockSense replace every Stocky feature?
StockSense is a focused alternative for Shopify brands whose priority is inventory planning and replenishment. It brings together stockout risk, SKU-level demand forecasts, historical seasonal uplift, planned sale uplift, incoming POs, supplier lead times, safety stock, dynamic reorder-point recommendations and barcode-supported Stocktakes. It does not claim to reproduce every Stocky, POS or warehouse workflow, so the right choice depends on your required process.
How does StockSense forecast demand?
StockSense starts with your own in-stock Shopify sales velocity. Where the data is available, it identifies stronger comparable prior-year seasonal demand and displays it separately from the baseline. You can also set a planned sale uplift. On-hand stock, incoming PO quantities, supplier lead time and safety stock then turn that forecast into a practical reorder decision.
Does StockSense use cross-merchant data or opaque AI demand models?
No. StockSense is designed to make the inputs to a replenishment decision visible. It uses your store’s Shopify sales, stock, incoming purchase orders, supplier lead times and explicit sale assumptions. That makes it a strong fit for merchants who want a transparent planning workflow; businesses needing cross-merchant trend modelling or specialised warehouse workflows should assess tools built for those requirements.
How do purchase orders and inbound stock affect a recommendation?
StockSense keeps expected purchase-order arrivals and on-order quantities visible alongside the selected product. This allows the merchant to see whether inbound stock already covers expected demand before creating another PO.
Does Stocktake support barcode scanners?
Yes. Compatible USB and Bluetooth scanners can input Shopify barcode values or SKUs into a draft Stocktake. Scanning does not adjust Shopify inventory immediately; the merchant reviews the count and confirms submission first.
Is StockSense built for every type of merchant?
It is most useful for Shopify brands with recurring SKUs and a reorder or purchase-order process. It is less suited to one-off product ranges, pure dropshipping or businesses that do not manage inventory planning.
